In an era marked by increasing global uncertainties such as economic crises, geopolitical conflicts, climate change, pandemics, rising living costs, and widening poverty gaps, Islamic philanthropy has emerged as a vital instrument for sustainable socio-economic development and social protection, particularly for vulnerable communities. Despite its historical contribution to education, healthcare, housing, public infrastructure, and social welfare throughout Islamic civilisation, Islamic philanthropy today faces challenges related to governance inefficiencies, regulatory constraints, limited financial innovation, and public trust. Recognising these challenges and opportunities, the Institute of Zakat and Waqf Malaysia (IKaZ), Academy of Contemporary Islamic Studies (ACIS), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), will organise the 7th International Conference on Zakat, Waqf and Islamic Philanthropy (ZAWFI 2026) under the theme “Islamic Philanthropy Instruments for Sustainable Development: Empowering VBI-Driven Governance and Agentic Digital Innovation” as a platform for scholars, policymakers, industry practitioners, religious institutions, NGOs, and Islamic fintech stakeholders to explore innovative approaches, governance frameworks, and policy solutions that can strengthen Islamic philanthropy as a sustainable driver of socio-economic development.

The conference is expected to generate meaningful discussions and practical recommendations on strengthening Islamic philanthropy through effective governance, Value-Based Intermediation (VBI), and agentic digital innovation. It aims to foster collaboration among scholars, policymakers, industry practitioners, and religious institutions, while promoting innovative frameworks, policies, and best practices that enhance the role of zakat, waqf, and other Islamic philanthropic instruments in achieving sustainable socio-economic development and improving the well-being of vulnerable communities.

Select “Payment with HRDC” – No prepayment required!
Receive Confirmation – We’ll send an email with an invoice and HRDC supporting documents.
Apply for HRDC Grant Approval – Use the provided documents to submit your HRDC grant application. (Refer to the relevant HRDC code for details.)
Submit Grant Approval – Once approved, email us the approval document to confirm your spot.
You’re All Set! – Only participants with approved HRDC Grant applications can attend the workshop/conference.

For Direct Payment (Non-HRDC) Participants:

Fast & Secure Payment – Simply register and complete your payment via our secure payment gateway.
Instant Confirmation – Once payment is received, you’ll receive a confirmation email with all the event details.

Substitution Policy

Can’t make it? You can send a replacement!
Just send us a written request at least four (4) working days before the event—we’ll take care of the rest!

Cancellation & No-Show Policy

This applies to both HRDC and direct payments.
No refunds will be provided for cancellations or no-shows.
If a registered participant does not attend, they will be marked as a no-show, and the approved HRDC grant (if applicable) will still be claimed.
